About Beech Hill Farm

Beech Hill Farm is a non-certified, organically run smallholding in the ancient landscape of The Sussex High Weald, where nature leads the way.

We work with local groups such as Netherfield Centre ( www.thenetherfieldcentre.co.uk ) , the Kent and Sussex Farm and Wildlife Advisory Group ( www.fwag.org.uk ) to conserve this fragile farming and landscape heritage. If you are a keen Birdwatcher you may see up to 60 species of wild birds here including, kingfisher, heron and grey wagtail on the ancient hammer ponds ( www.rspb.org.uk ).

Rare Breed Sheep

We keep Rare Breed Sheep and our Black Wensleydale Flock was founded in 2000. See our companion site www.woolcraftwithwensleydales.com for more information. We also work with Vauxhall City Farm in London, sharing sheep and lambs. Our Wensleydales are well travelled and used to people!

Beech Hill Farm has also been a WWOOF Host Farm (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) for 10 years and volunteers come from all over the world to learn and share organic skills (www.wwoof.org.uk). You can find us in www.organicholidays.com.

Contact us for details about Open Days (put last phrase in brown type) here and occasional courses. In 2008 we hope to encourage small groups to come and experience a unique combination of "Sheep to Shawl" opportunities. Over the hill there is Sarah Raven's Cutting Garden at Brightling (www.thecuttinggarden.com.)

Visit Beech Hill Farm

You can visit Beech Hill Farm by yourself for a rural retreat or with friends: there is the Studio, The Coach House (a member of Alistair Sawdays's Special Escapes), and the rear wing of the main house to choose from.
You can come for a Short Break, bring a small group of friends to work or play - the opportunities are infinitely variable. In 2008 there may even be a restored Gypsy Caravan on offer.
