Is Beech Hill Farm a working farm?


1. How far is The Coach House from the main house?

The Coach House is over 60 metres from the main house behind its own enclosed walled area and with its own entrance. It also has its own private garden area .

2. How far apart is the Coach House from The Studio?

The Studio is at the opposite end of the estate down a separate track and near the farm area. Neither unit impinges on the other in any way.

3.Do you offer Short Breaks?

We cater for a minimum stay of 3 nights and Short Breaks of 3/4 nights - or longer - are offered all year round in either The Coach House or The Studio depending on availability. Mid week periods are equally welcomed.

4. Do you provide linen and towels?

everything is provided for you, towels, bedlinen and some basic household items in all our guest accommodation.

5. What about arrival and departure?

Guests may arrive after 4 p.m. and are requested to vacate the property by 10.00.a.m. on their day of departure. We also ask guest to inform us approx. what time they are arriving so that arrangements for keys and access can be made beforehand.

6. What about holiday cancellation?

OUr terms are stated on the booking forms: there is a non-refundable deposit of £100 per booking. 50% of the remainder is refundable up to 2 weeks prior to arrival and after that the total amount is payable. Guests are strongly advised to make sure they have holiday insurance as your holiday booking is a legally binding agreement.

7. Can I walk from the door?

There are footpaths in various directions very near Beech Hill Farm some of which can be followed to local pubs. Other walks in ancient woodland or on the marshes are a short drive away.
There are no street lights at night so walking to the pub in the dark may not appeal, link to www.pathstoprosperity.org for walks. Ask us for our local Pub List

8. What about pets?

If guests are considering bringing their dog we would ask them to check with us first as we can only accept 1 dog in The Coach House. Ask us for our Information Sheet if you are bringing your dog..

9. Can we get to Beech Hill Farm by public Transport?

Yes, you can by bus/train plus taxi. Ask for our Sheets on Directions and Public Transport and Food on Your Doorstep

10. Supposing we had friends who wanted to come too?

Sometimes visitors take both the Studio and The coach House in order to share a holiday with other friends or family. There is also some accommodation in the rear wing of the main house
which can take up to 4 people if a small group wants to come and use The Studio for a week-end or longer. Please ask the owner for more details.

11. Is Beech Hill Farm a working farm?

Yes, it is a 20 acre smallholding run organically and specialising in Rare Breed Sheep: Black Pedigree Wensleydales which are reared for their unique high quality fleece and also delicious meat.
