For Public Transport.
There are two rail lines you can use: Charing Cross/Waterloo/London Bridge to Hastings
London Victoria to Eastbourne
Although they are not quite the nearest stations the best ones for taxi services are Battle
for the Hastings line and Polegate for the Eastbourne line. There should be rank taxis
available at both but it is probably best to book ahead, especially at public bank holidays.
It is also possible to get buses from Polegate to Hailsham and then get a taxi.
